We got the Standard Edition and the components were really top-notch. Only thing I noticed was that the player mats' printing for where to place the dice was a bit too faint.

We played two games including explanations in 3 hours with three of us. I'd say about 70 minutes per game with three players. The second one went pretty fast though since we were all in it.

So I played this game multiple times over the past two weeks (only with three and four players). The biggest strength of the game is definitely the playtime and setup time. + Material quality is good to very good. + I think the visuals work well and fit the game (subjective) + Playtime for 3-4 players: 60-90 minutes (depends on the game, e.g. which factions are playing) + Little to no downtime; the only exception might be the last round when you want to squeeze out every last bit in the final battles + Rules explanation takes 5-10 minutes. 5 minutes if you’ve played area control games before. - The factions and possibly their abilities aren’t 100% balanced, but I didn’t dive deep enough to judge that for sure—there just weren’t enough playthroughs. But it could definitely be the case with certain faction combinations. Some factions are a bit more passive in the early rounds, while others are “full-on confrontational” (though the game always goes up to round 12). From my gut feeling, I also found most of the permanent abilities harder to pull off or weaker than the one-time abilities. Maybe that’s because the games don’t last as long. But again, I just need more playtime to give a final verdict on that. - The catch-up mechanism with the extra die can sometimes turn the last-place player into the winner at the end. You should always keep an eye on all your opponents because having one more die each round can sometimes let someone who was way behind suddenly win big. (Though honestly, with more game sense, you can steer this better.) Final verdict: Cool short-and-sweet game with some meta gaming inside. Awesome design with high-quality production. Maybe some faction combos feel a bit broken in certain setups, but it doesn’t ruin the game for me. Always had fun and think it’s a good game! :)
