What the game collection does

Scan barcodes
Hold the box up to the camera – around 12,600 barcodes (EAN-13 and UPC-A) are recognised instantly. The camera image stays on your device; only the digits are sent.

One search box for everything
Type a title, barcode, BGG ID or BGG link. We search the shared catalogue, the shop data and BoardGameGeek live – localised titles included.

Four markers
Owned, Played, Wishlist and Want to play – combine them freely. Filter tiles show at a glance how many games are still unplayed on your shelf.

Import your BGG collection
Enter your BGG username, check the preview, import: owned games, played games and “Want to play” come along. Nothing is ever deleted, only added.

Shelf and game card
Cover shelf with size slider, search and sorting. Each game card shows player count, playing time, age, designers, publisher, complexity plus BGG rating and rank.

Show it on your profile
You decide per list what visitors to your profile can see. Anyone who shows their collection appears in the community ranking of the largest collections.

Shared game catalogue
Unknown barcode? Assign it once or add the game with a photo of the box – from then on everyone finds it instantly. Details can be corrected together.

Privacy built in
Games you haven’t shared never leave the server. Nobody sees barcodes or timestamps. The collection is part of your data export and is deleted with your account.

- Sign up for free and confirm your e-mail address.
- Open “My collection” in the user menu and scan your first game or search by title.
- Tap a marker, scan the next game – or import your BGG collection in one go.
Frequently asked questions about the game collection
Is the game collection free?
Yes. The collection comes with every PlayedNow account – no fees, no scanning limit. There is room for up to 5,000 games per account.
Does the scanner work on iPhone?
Yes. On iPhone and iPad the scanner uses Safari’s built-in barcode reader; on Android it uses the camera in the browser. No app required.
Can I import my BoardGameGeek collection?
Yes. Enter your BGG username – the collection must be public on BGG. After a preview the games are imported as “Owned”; played games and “Want to play” are marked additionally.
Who can see my collection?
Only you – until you share something. In your profile settings you release each list separately (collection, wishlist, want to play, played). Shared collections are visible to logged-in members only.
