We hadn't played it in a long time, it went way faster than I remembered, both setup and the game itself. Can be super frustrating when the dice don't like you. But overall a great game with lots of decisions.

A super cute, gorgeous game board, some beautiful colorful translucent dice, and your personal Kali dice board make the game already visually a delight. There are plenty of Worker Placement spots and the ability to flip dice with Karma points, so you can almost always do cool actions. The only downside is when you have dice luck as bad as mine and want to buy expensive tiles to expand your province tableau (there are great bonuses for smart building here too), you get a bit frustrated when the dice keep rolling low 😅 Meanwhile, you gain Glory on the Glory track by building structures and money, mostly from built works. Both can be nicely optimized, and you also get money and Glory through various actions or bonuses along the way. However, you also have to spend money for some actions. This happens via the Money track, which runs counter to the Glory track. If your two personal markers on the two tracks meet, you win immediately. Oh, and you can also grab an extra Worker each time you advance on the Money track, the Glory track, and the River (where you can get different bonuses)—so up to 2 extra Workers in total. It’s not the most complex game, but you can make progress through different tactics, there’s a lot packed in, and you can totally immerse yourself in its own little world.

I've only played it once so far, and the first impression was really great. Unfortunately, the dice luck or bad luck can't be ignored. That meant one person completely dominated. But I'd play it again if the chance comes up :)

Genius gateway game. Perfect mix of catchy rules and game depth.
