What it's about

Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game lures you into the luxurious Orient Express in the 1920s, taking you on a dangerous train ride into the realm of the Dreamlands. Everything is against you, from monsters attacking the train to murderous cults hiding among the passengers. Worst of all, an eldritch, blood-thirsty vampire hunting down everything that moves. Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game brings the Call of Cthulhu horror and mystery TTRPG into the board gaming world. Special rules, ongoing character development, and play pieces provide a challenging and exciting gaming experience. In this cooperative game, you and the other investigators try to survive on the doomed train. To win, you must hunt out the cultists to stop them from performing a hideous ritual and ensure the train reaches its destination. Each of you controls a character who can develop new skills, gather items, talk to the passengers, discover clues, and, ultimately, decide the train's fate. You may even learn a spell or two!

Chaosium was founded by visionary game designer Greg Stafford in 1975. Our award-winning role playing games, board games, and fiction have been acclaimed as some of the most engaging and innovative of all time. For more than forty years, Chaosium Inc. has captivated gamers, readers and mythic adventurers worldwide. The roleplaying games RuneQuest, Call of Cthulhu, King Arthur Pendragon, HeroQuest – as well as such classic board and card games as White Bear & Red Moon (later called Dragon Pass), Nomad Gods, Arkham Horror, Credo, and Mythos all originated at Chaosium. Chaosium began as a board game publisher, and in 2017 returned to producing board games again after a twenty year hiatus, winning multiple ENnie awards with our first two releases. In 2024 we began a big board game project with the Kickstarter campaign for Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game, showing how a famous TTRPG campaign can be effectively translated into the medium of board games. With more board game projects to come in the future our aim is to deliver immersive experiences for players, using innovative mechanics and solutions to best tell stories filled with exciting adventures.
