Im herbstlichen Fox Grove beginnt der Wettlauf um die besten Wintervorräte. Als Tiere des Waldes sammelt ihr Holz, Nüsse und Ahornblätter, um eure Ressourcen an drei Waldhäuser zu liefern und euch optimal auf die kalte Jahreszeit vorzubereiten. Doch nur wer die Stiche klug plant und seine Fähigkeiten effizient einsetzt, wird am Ende die meisten Punkte erzielen. Das Herzstück des Spiels ist ein spannendes Stichspiel mit vier Farben – darunter gelbe Trumpfkarten. Jede Karte bringt beim Gewinnen eines Stichs oder beim geschickten Abwerfen wertvolle Belohnungen: Ressourcen für den Ausbau der Waldhäuser, Brombeeren als flexible Joker oder sogar direkte Aufstiege durch besonders starke Karten. Timing und Handmanagement spielen dabei eine zentrale Rolle. Nach neun ausgespielten Stichen folgt die Lieferphase. Jetzt zeigt sich, wer seine Vorräte clever eingesetzt hat. Schritt für Schritt steigt ihr in den Waldhäusern auf, bezahlt die geforderten Ressourcen und setzt eure Tiermarker höher. Jede erreichte Stufe bringt Punkte – und oft auch Bonusaktionen. Diese ermöglichen euch zusätzliche Brombeeren oder das Reaktivieren eurer Eulen. Die Eulen sind dabei ein entscheidender strategischer Faktor. Jede besitzt eine einzigartige Fähigkeit: Ressourcen vergünstigen, umwandeln, verdoppeln oder sogar zwei Karten aus einem Stich wählen. Doch jede Fähigkeit ist nur einmal einsetzbar, bis sie wieder aktiviert wird. So entsteht ein spannendes Ressourcen- und Timing-Puzzle. Besonders clever: Am Spielende zählt nicht nur, wie hoch ihr in den Waldhäusern aufgestiegen seid – auch eure niedrigste erreichte Stufe fließt in die Wertung ein. Wer sich also nur auf ein Gebäude konzentriert, riskiert wertvolle Punkte. Zusätzlich bringen gesammelte Brombeeren verdeckte Siegpunkte. Mit variablen Waldhaus-Seiten, unterschiedlichen Eulenkombinationen, einer Profi-Variante und einer speziellen Zwei-Personen-Regel bietet Fox Grove hohe Wiederspielbarkeit und strategische Tiefe – verpackt in ein atmosphärisches Waldthema.
