In Padventures: Paddy entdeckt den Wald begleiten die Spieler Paddy auf einem Abenteuer durch den Wald und entdecken und sammeln dabei verschiedene Pflanzen, Tiere und andere Schätze. Das Besondere dabei: Das Spiel wird direkt auf einem Blatt Papier gespielt, das im Laufe des Abenteuers nach und nach zerschnitten wird. In jedem Zug machen die Spieler zwei Schnitte und trennen dabei Felder vom Rand ihres Blattes ab. Dabei müssen sie darauf achten, dass der verbleibende Teil des Blattes zusammenhängend bleibt. Auf den abgetrennten Bereichen befinden sich verschiedene Waldmotive, die die Spieler im Laufe des Spiels sammeln. Die Wahl der richtigen Schnitte ist entscheidend: Die Spieler müssen überlegen, welche Motive sie sammeln möchten, und gleichzeitig vorausschauend planen, damit sie später noch an besonders wertvolle Bereiche gelangen können. Das Spiel endet, sobald nur noch zwei Felder übrig sind. Anschließend vergleichen die Spieler ihre Sammlungen für jedes der verschiedenen Waldmotive. Punkte gibt es jeweils für die größte und die zweitgrößte Sammlung eines Motivs. Wer am Ende die meisten Punkte gesammelt hat, gewinnt das Spiel. In Padventures: Paddy Discovers the Forest , players join Paddy on an adventure through the forest, discovering and collecting different plants, animals, and other treasures along the way. The unusual twist is that the game is played directly on a paper sheet that is gradually cut apart as the adventure progresses. On each turn, players make two cuts, removing squares from the edge of their sheet while making sure the remaining part stays connected. The removed sections contain different forest motifs that players collect throughout the game. Choosing what to cut is important: players must decide which motifs they want to collect while also planning their cuts carefully so they can still reach valuable areas later. The game ends when only two squares remain. Players compare their collections for each of the different forest motifs. Points are awarded for having the largest and second-largest collections of each motif. The player who scores the most points wins the game.
