We finally took down the Carapax Queen after a bunch of failed attempts and can move on to difficulty 5 Nemesis (we wanted to do it in order, even though it doesn’t really matter 😅). I decided for us to try the Devourer—it seems to have fewer special rules.
We’re only using the base game, no expansions.
For anyone who doesn’t know the game, it’s a deck-building game like Dominion but cooperative. You’ve got “money cards,” spells to deal damage to the Nemesis, and artifacts for all sorts of stuff.
You gotta bring the Nemesis down to 0 health before the last Human Stronghold takes 30 damage or all players are KO’d.

I liked playing that too. But once you've beaten it, that's pretty much it for a while. 👍🏼

Come back to our table again and again. We really like the difficulty level, which often leads to a close victory or defeat. The other parts of the series are great too. Unfortunately, the German publisher has stopped further translation and production. So if you like it, I recommend checking out what’s still available on the market soon.
