...with Pearlbrook and Newleaf. It looks great, but I don’t enjoy it as much anymore. It feels more like work than playing because there are so many options. And it’s really hard to keep track of all the activated card effects.
Too bad it’s my wife’s favorite game, and she ALWAYS wins.

That happens to me sometimes with games that have too many expansions. 🫣 For Everdell, we only have Bellfaire, which keeps things manageable. Maybe try leaving out an expansion next time.

And what if the compromise is to play this game without the expansion? For me, the weight of a decision in typical worker placement games gets lost when the expansions give you too many alternative ways to get your resources. I like them scarce and contested. Sure, the point yield won’t be as high, but I don’t think the game should be about maximizing points anyway. :)
