Conservas - Der Fang des Abends

At a spontaneous round of Conservas yesterday, I finally managed to complete the 11th of 12 scenarios on my third try. Conservas is a beautifully illustrated solo game by Scott Almes where we play as a small fishing company trying to catch specific sea creatures for our fishing orders using our boats across 12 varied scenarios (12 months). The goal is to avoid overfishing the seas while still making enough money. Fishing works through a bag-building mechanism. The game is so wonderfully charming, detail-oriented, and humorous that despite being a solo game, it’s become a secret favorite of mine. It’s the perfect game to unwind and relax for 20-30 minutes after a stressful day. Small box, packed with tons of gameplay and even more love for the details!
