I gotta say, I’m usually not one for solo modes where you’re trying to beat your high score.
So it really surprised me that this game is so good it immediately took the #2 spot behind Spirit Island for me.
The "computer" has some special rules, but they’re easy to remember, and with the bot cards, the solo mode feels super chill. Doesn’t mean you win easily, though.
In this game, I can’t tell yet if it’ll be enough—I can’t get the deck going...
Is this the cadet mode against the computer? Because you can also play solo against all the captains included, and each one is scripted with different instructions. Then you're not playing against your own high score, but against the scripted captain. Works really well. And then there's also a kind of campaign with the 5-year mission, but I haven't tried that yet.
I’ve watched some Star Trek stuff here and there, but I wouldn’t call myself a huge Star Trek fan.
The game works great even without knowing the franchise and is a lot of fun.
If you know the references, a lot of the cards are fun little Easter eggs, but that’s just a bonus.
