Game moment

Spiele unter 2 Jahren?

🇩🇪 Original in German

My son is now 15 months old. I can hardly wait for him to reach the "board-game-ready" age! :) My first *Obstgarten* is already waiting for him. Though our son still interprets the instructions in his own special way. ^^ When did you start playing board games with your kids?

Around two years old, to start with. At first with adapted rules or playing together as a team.

My kids were really into it at that age—and even before! Both of them are super into board games. At that age, for example, they were already loving Dragomino. Before that, it was Orchard (Obstgarten) and Lotti Karotti ;-)

Dragomino? Never heard of it before either. That’s going straight on my list! It can’t be too long now, right? ^^

Hang in there, it'll be worth it. Now both are 5 and 7, and some really different stuff is coming up next.

Ugh, something's not right here.

The first game my daughter could play that I didn’t find boring was Kugelgeister. I also like Dragomino, but that came later. Can’t remember the age she started with either, though!

Even really early, like from about 2 years old. We played games like *Obstgarten*, *Tempo kleine Schnecke*, *Lotti Karotti*, and *Wer War's?*. Now my kids are 8 and 12, and we love playing *Mischwald* or *Living Forest* for example. Nature themes almost always work. So yeah, it’s worth being patient and bringing games to the table again and again.
