Emerland (Everdell Spin Off)

Nice spin-off from the Everdell universe! Right now, it's the most played game from our newest additions…

The "tree" or setup is probably way faster to assemble, right?

The visuals in Everdell are just so pretty and cozy. Even though I don’t know this version

If you're already tired of the old parts, would you still say it's worth giving the part another shot?

Alright, let's tackle this one by one—the tree goes together super quick since the instructions are really helpful. I gotta admit, though, the game’s from the Kickstarter campaign, and after our experience with the Everdell cardboard tree, we went for the wooden version as an add-on. The tree just sat fully assembled on our shelf, only getting taken apart and put back together for trips. It lasted around 3-4 years like that. And yeah, this wooden version’s been sitting on the shelf too. The game’s components look just as cute as the earlier titles. Emerland was on Kickstarter (English-only at first, but it’ll be shown and available in German at SPIEL by Pegasus). So, should you give it a shot? Tough question… First off, we’ve got Everdell with all the expansions: Pearlbrook, Belfaire, Spirecrest, and NewLeaf. Plus FarShore and Silverfrost. Before NewLeaf came out, only Spirecrest really clicked for us. Now we play NewLeaf regularly—it’s just the most rounded and satisfying experience. So we’ve decided not to buy any more expansions unless they blow NewLeaf out of the water. FarShore was a total letdown—we played it maybe 4-5 times. Silverfrost, though, with its “snowed-in” mechanic, the helpful giant creatures, and the “fire” resource, brought a fresh vibe and bumped up the difficulty in a good way compared to Everdell. Emerland’s got some cool new twists, but the biggest draw for us are those little helpers—they boost worker actions and even take on their own important tasks. Right now, Emerland’s our most-played game. But if you’re totally done with Everdell’s mechanics, you might wanna try before you buy to see if the new stuff gives you enough fresh energy.
