We tried it 3 times, with 2t and 3t, and noticed that one faction always had a much easier time winning. Unfortunately, it was never close—the Sharks always won. Has anyone else had the same experience?

I’ve only played Ahoy once with three players so far. It was really close and balanced between the Sharks and the Mollusks because the Mollusks could reproduce and spread well, balancing out the Sharks’ strong attacks. For the Smugglers, though, it was kind of hopeless and frustrating. They were way too often an easy target for the Sharks compared to the Mollusks and couldn’t recover as quickly—or at all.

One of my favorite games, but it's only properly balanced for 4 players. The expansions add a team mode and new factions.
